About this opportunity Reporting to the HR Manager, the Human Resources is responsible in supporting the HR department in all aspects of recruitment, employee relations, and HR administration. The ideal candidate will assist with maintaining employee records, coordinating HR programs, and support with payroll preparation.
When your actions lead to success:
Support the full cycle recruitment & onboarding process for internal and external positions including creating job postings, screening resumes, scheduling and participation in interviews, facilitation of background and reference checks, drafting of employment offers and new hire forms, etc.
Lead new hire orientations for all new hires
Assist in the administration of employee status changes on the HRIS & amendment paperwork throughout the year
Run monthly and ad hoc reports through the HRIS system and Excel
Assist with the annual/mid-year performance and compensation review process for hourly and salaried employees
Manage the administration of monthly employee excellence program
Assist with employee engagement initiatives and actively participate in Social Committee meetings supporting with organizing company events and employee engagement activities
Participate in HR projects & initiatives as required
Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries regarding HR policies and procedures. Build trust and strong relationships with employees by spending time on the production floor
Assist payroll team with payroll preparation, supporting with timesheet validation and Payroll Action Forms as needed
Follow and adhere to Transcontinental’s code of ethics and participate in the Continuous Improvements efforts
Support with digitization of existing employee files

When your expertise drives us
Post Secondary Education in Human Resources or related experience
Experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset!
Experience with HR platforms such as PeopleSoft & Kronos is an asset!
General knowledge of ESA, WSIB, HR theories, best practices, legislation and HR resource
Highly organized, able to juggle competing priorities and adapt to a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment
Strong communication (written/verbal), facilitation and presentation skills
Good decision-making skills and ability to take initiatives.
Ability to understand business requirements and work with minimal supervision.
