The role is part of the Barron's trending news team, which eschews commodity stories in favor of delivering analysis-or an interesting angle-about the news in the timeframe readers are searching to understand news events. The reporter may have the opportunity to write longer reported-out features and analytical pieces so some experience of this would be an advantage.
You Will:
Track breaking news of publicly traded companies, financial markets, and other subjects of interest to Barron's readers
Generate high-level analysis and angles - especially investing ones - on the day's biggest stories
Write quickly and cleanly under tight deadlines
You Have:
The ability to write cleanly and quickly on a tight deadline
The capability to offer insights into the biggest stories of each day using FAQs, charts, and other news-you-can-use story forms.
Passionate about markets and finance, energized by breaking news
Relentlessly committed to factual accuracy
Familiarity with corporate balance sheets, financial valuations, and investing principles would be ideal
