Executive level position located in our home office in Denver, Colorado; will travel to and work in Cheyenne, Wyoming as needed.

POSITION PURPOSE

Direct and coordinate all Warehouse and Shipping operations. Oversee and support the direction and coordination of all facility operations along with managing personnel, and supply chain transportation. Reports directly to the President; works closely with President, CFO and Vice President of WMC Cheyenne on the overall strategy, business decisions and direction of operations.

Management in Denver will consist of direct reporting from salaried department heads responsible for packaging, shipping, warehousing, and manufacturing material movement within the Denver division. The position will also be accountable for the overall strategy and performance of the Company’s distribution facility in Cheyenne Wyoming.

ATTENDANCE & SCHEDULE

Consistent and regular attendance is required. The full-time position will work a minimum of 40 hours per week. Devote the time and energy necessary to ensure responsibilities are covered and objectives are met; may work additional hours based on business needs. Some travel is required. Scheduled workdays may vary, with potential for Mon. – Thurs. schedule.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Degree in Operations / Supply Chain Management and a minimum of 5 years’ experience at the management level in a fast-paced distribution center environment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of safety, concepts and principles of the distribution field.
  • Demonstrated experience working in Walmart Distribution preferred.
  • Must be able to perform multiple priorities and delegate effectively.
  • Analytic thinking skills and ability to make sound decisions based on changing data.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills required.
  • Knowledge of current distribution/logistics techniques.
  • Experience in working with freight companies.
  • Must have strong computer skills. Advanced skills in Excel and Word.
  • Demonstrated experience working in Warehouse Management Systems, Oracle WMS preferred.
  • Operate electric and gas-powered forklifts regularly.
  • Requires leadership and proficient interpersonal skills for management of people and conflict resolution.
  • Ability to foster teamwork and drive engagement and inclusion.
  • Must possess initiative and interpersonal skills to ensure work is accomplished and still maintain harmonious employee relations in departments supervised.
  • Requires knowledge of simple office equipment, telephone, copier, adding machine and basic computer skills and knowledge.
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of study preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Plan, prioritize, and direct all work activities in our Denver departments, warehouse, shipping and manufacturing material movement and storage, ensuring a safe, consistent, and positive working environment.
  • Develops and implements the overall strategy for our Cheyenne replenishment facility.
  • Manages daily operations for the organization’s logistic functions. Leads and directs others in the Shipping and Warehouse areas.
  • Maintains operations by evaluating, initiating, coordinating, and enforcing programs, including operational and personnel policies and procedures.
  • Evaluates and implements changes to policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for the overall achievement of departmental productivity and quality standards for the distribution supply chains, in both locations.
  • Responsible for department managers’ productivity, quality standards and goals for the Shipping, Warehouse and Packaging Departments.
  • Lead and mentor a team of operations staff, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure 100% compliance on all routing and on time shipments, coordinating the most effective use of staff to accomplish results.
  • Constantly review operations for improvement of quality, efficiency, cost, and delivery.
  • Responsible for staying current with technologies and trends related to logistics and supply chain advancements.
  • Responsible for all departmental storage and equipment maintenance.
  • Responsible for operating within budgeted guidelines in all departments.
  • Recommend staffing levels and oversees performance, production, and training of department personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with all record-keeping and reporting requirements related to operations.
  • Evaluate and propose changes in department procedures and implement, as approved.
  • Oversee equipment maintenance and supply orders to maintain departmental needs and equipment in a cost-efficient manner.
  • Fully cross-trained and able to work in all positions within operations and will be required to assist workflow when necessary.
  • Attend planning and focus meetings to develop strategic plans, prioritize and implement processes for the benefit and growth of the Company.
  • Assist and support inventory control in maintaining accuracy.
  • Capture, record, and evaluate daily operations volumes and efficiencies as reported to personnel.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Able to lift up to 30 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Able to lift over 50 lbs. with the assistance of another qualified coworker.
  • Able to stand and walk for the duration of the shift, up to 10 hours.
  • Able to bend, twist, stoop and kneel and reach forward and overhead.
  • Must be adaptable to constant change and able to work well under pressure.
  • Able to work varying work hours to ensure production and quality standards.
  • Must have manual dexterity, visual acuity and ability to use computer, scanners, office and warehouse equipment.
  • Able to operate forklift and obtain certification.
  • Able to sit at a PC and phone for part of the workday.
  • Able to reach forward, and overhead,
  • Able to hear and communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Equipment Used:

Computer, keyboard, Radio Frequency ID Scanner, pallet jack, forklift and various warehouse equipment.
