Summary:



The Senior Supervisor - HACCP/Quality will oversee the plant's Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and quality programs, a science-based process aimed at ensuring the safety of processed foods. The role involves analyzing food processing procedures to identify key points where food safety hazards can be reduced or eliminated. This individual will be responsible for the development, implementation, maintenance, and validation of the plant's HACCP Program, ensuring compliance with food safety standards. Additionally, the position will require training and certifying management, FSQA staff, and HACCP monitors.


This role also serves as the location's SQF (Safe Quality Food) Practitioner and is crucial in maintaining food safety standards throughout the production process. The ideal candidate must have strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a solid understanding of plant processes to identify potential hazards.



Key Responsibilities:



  • Develop, implement, and maintain the plant's HACCP/Quality Programs.


  • Validate and continuously improve HACCP/Quality procedures to meet safety standards.


  • Train and certify management, FSQA team members, and HACCP/Quality monitors.


  • Serve as the plant's SQF Practitioner ensuring compliance with SQF standards.


  • Analyze food processing procedures to identify critical control/quality points for reducing food safety and quality risks.


  • Interpret statistical charts and data to assess and mitigate potential food safety hazards.


  • Collaborate with production teams to ensure the safe and efficient handling of food products.


  • Maintain and update HACCP/Quality-related documentation and records.


  • Serve as a backup to the FSQA Manager.


  • Supervise FSQA team members across the laboratory, farms, and feed mill operations.





Requirements:



Education/Experience: A Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred. However, candidates with a combination of equivalent experience and training in FSQA will also be considered in lieu of formal education.


Experience: A minimum of 2 year of experience in FSQA or equivalent training/experience is required. Experience working in a food processing plant environment is preferred.


Skills: Strong knowledge of HACCP principles and food safety regulations. Ability to interpret statistical data and identify trends.


Computer Skills: Proficiency with basic computer skills; willingness to learn Tyson Business Computer Systems.


Communication Skills: Excellent communication, training, and interpersonal skills. Thorough knowledge of plant processes to identify potential food safety hazards.
