Responsibilities

  • Identify key market opportunities and generate sales by cultivating new business opportunities.
  • Create and execute comprehensive strategies focused on sustainable growth, leveraging market insights and technical feasibility.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key customers and industry partners.
  • Collaborate with prospective partners and internal stakeholders to develop compelling business cases for development projects, aligning with customer needs and company objectives.
  • Consistently meet and exceed established sales and growth objectives.
  • Conduct thorough market research to prioritize opportunities, using both internal and external resources to identify prospective industries and unmet needs.
  • Facilitate cross-functional meetings with internal and external stakeholders to align on business objectives, ensuring successful project execution and external partnerships.
  • Support the drafting and negotiation of supply and collaboration agreements with potential partners, ensuring mutual benefit and alignment with company goals.

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in business development or sales, preferably within the biotechnology or specialty chemicals sectors
  • Educational background in engineering, science or business (MBA preferred)
  • Experience in B2B sales or marketing environment
  • Ability to travel 30-50% of time, depending on base location

  • Proven success in building sales pipelines and driving revenue growth in target markets.
  • Strong expertise in business development strategies, market analysis, and growth execution.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.

  • Skilled in contract negotiation and closing deals that contribute to the company's long-term success.

Amyris is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range for this role is $118,500 to $186,500 per year, for candidates located nationally (outside of the SF Bay Area). For candidates located in the San Francisco Bay Area, the salary range is $140,500 to $207,000 per year, depending on experience. Salary offers are made based on internal equity and market analysis, and will vary based on the candidate's skills, depth of experience and specific work location.
