Job Description:

Position Description

Responsible for accurate and courteous weighing of inbound and outbound trucks, involving direct dialog with truck drivers, organization and handling of shipping bills and posting of shipments to computerized inventories. All work must conform to customer expectations and company policy and procedures. • Responsible for clerical duties including, but not limited to, accurately and efficiently typing and handling of bills of lading and scale tickets. • Accurately distribute,weigh in and out and type all pertinent information (gross, tare and net, truck number) on bills of lading • Fill in all pertinent information on inbound / outbound paperwork and inspection forms • Generate scale tickets • Confirm truck shipments in computer • Calling truck dispatchers when necessary • Answer telephones • Be familiar with and adhere to all KM policies and procedures • Participate in daily Safety / Quality talks • Communicate with customers, vendors and carriers as needed • Complete appropriate documentation and paperwork • Maintain a high degree of organization • Perform all work in compliance with company standards, procedures and regulatory requirements • Perform other functions as trained, requested and instructed by supervision.
Position Requirements

EDUCATION: • High School Diploma or equivalent EXPERIENCE/SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE: • Minimum one year work experience in customer service / scale operations or computer experience COMPETENCIES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) • Must be able to learn location specific software applications • Must have good organizational skills • Must be able to communicate, read, comprehend and interpret written and oral comunications in English • Must be able to work under pressure to meed deadlines • Must be able to focus attention and follow work rules • Must be able to accept supervision / direction and work effectively and cooperatively with other people • Ability to adjust to changing operating conditions • Successful completion of background check and post offer and random drug screens PHYSICAL DEMANDS: • Will be required to sit and stand for extended periods of time • Will be required to stoop, kneel and/or crouch on a regular basis • Must have manual / mental dexterity to oeprate office equipment including, but not limited to, telephones, 2-way radios, calculators and computers • Vision requirements are close and distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus • Will occasionally be required to lift / carry up to 25 pounds WORKING CONDITIONS: • May be subject to limited outdoor exposure • Must be able and willing to work all shifts, overtime and/or extended hours as needed and required SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: None PREFERRED EXPERIENCE - EDUCATION - CERTIFICATIONS - COMPETENCIES - SKILLS AND ABILITIES: • Post high school education preferred • Prior truck scale experience preferred OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: • Other duties as assigned
