The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the accounting department in maintaining financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. This role involves performing various accounting functions, including bookkeeping, account reconciliation, and assisting with month-end closing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and maintain financial statements and reports in accordance with GAAP.
Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions in a timely manner.
Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
Support audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations as required.
Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
Contribute to the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
Collaborate with team members to identify process improvements and enhance efficiency.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Proven experience in accounting or finance roles.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
