The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for managing and processing all incoming invoices and payments for the organization. This role ensures that financial obligations are met in a timely and accurate manner while maintaining detailed records of transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
Review, verify, and process invoices for payment in accordance with company policies.
Ensure proper coding of expenses and accurate data entry into accounting software.
Maintain vendor accounts and resolve discrepancies related to invoices and payments.
Prepare and process checks, ACH payments, and wire transfers as needed.
Reconcile vendor statements and accounts payable reports on a regular basis.
Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts payable.
Maintain organized records of invoices, payments, and related documentation.
Respond to vendor inquiries regarding payments and account status.
Collaborate with other departments to resolve billing issues and improve processes.
Contribute to the development and implementation of accounts payable policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in accounting or finance preferred.
Previous experience in accounts payable or a similar role.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
