Description: Our client is currently seeking a Surgical Technologist at Seattle, WA
Surgical techs applying to this posting must have ortho experience in arthroscopic cases, spine, and/or total joints (knees and hips).
Start & end times of shift:06:45am - 05:15pm with up to 5-6 late days/month. The late days are if procedures are going past 5pm. The late person will stay to finish the case until it is done.
Days of the week they'll work: 10 hour shifts Mon-Friday. Day off varies.
This job will have the following responsibilities:
Serves in the scrub role during assigned procedures.
Places equipment and supplies in operating room and arranges instruments, according to instruction.
Maintains supply of fluids and medications labeled and ready for use during operation. -Hands instruments and supplies to surgeon, holds retractors, and performs other tasks as directed by surgeon during operation within scope of practice.
Anticipates the needs of the surgical team and facilitates the progress of the surgical procedure.
Effectively coordinates equipment, supplies and instrumentation according to surgeon?s preference cards. Collaborates with members of the surgical team in the updating and maintenance of preference cards.
Functions competently within multiple specialty areas and serves in a flexible scrub role with minimal notice.
Recognizes age and size of patient as a relevant factor, and applies appropriate skills in preparation for surgical intervention.
Assists team members with positioning, moving and transporting patients.
Facilitates room turnover.
Assists with draping of patient.
Anticipates surgeons needs in supplies and instrumentation.
Applies knowledge of good sterile technique.

Qualifications & Requirements:
Graduate from a school of surgical technology
BLS certificate
Registered as a surgical technician in Washington state
