About Us: Ledgent is a leading firm in the Tampa Staffing Market. We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounts Payable Specialist to join our client in Tampa.



Job Summary: The Construction Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for managing all aspects of accounts payable, including processing invoices, ensuring accurate coding, and maintaining vendor relationships. This role is essential in supporting our construction projects by ensuring timely and accurate payment processing.



Key Responsibilities:



  • Process and verify invoices from vendors and subcontractors.

  • Match invoices to purchase orders and contracts, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

  • Review and reconcile discrepancies between invoices and project budgets.

  • Maintain accurate records of accounts payable transactions.

  • Prepare weekly and monthly payment runs and communicate with vendors regarding payment status.

  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports related to accounts payable.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

  • Support month-end closing activities and audits as needed.

  • Collaborate with project managers and other departments to resolve payment issues.

  • Maintain vendor files and documentation in accordance with company policies.

  • Stay updated on industry best practices and changes in relevant regulations.


Qualifications:



  • 2+ years of experience in accounts payable, preferably in the construction industry.

  • Strong understanding of construction accounting principles.

  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
