Senior Research Scientist - ISEE

Job Summary

Analyze and process eddy covariance data and accompanying measurements to complete annual carbon, greenhouse gas, water, and energy budgets for CABBI-focused ecosystems. Furthermore, the incumbent will work with CABBI PIs to analyze and interpret the results and develop and publish manuscripts.



Duties & Responsibilities


  • Work within a collaborative framework to analyze and interpret data to lead the development of scientific manuscripts for publication.
  • Process eddy covariance data to conform with rigorous standards established by the Ameriflux network.
  • Submit eddy covariance data to the Ameriflux networks and work with Ameriflux staff to ensure high quality data is available to the scientific community.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in biology, atmospheric sciences, or a related field.

  • 3 years of experience working with ecosystem-scale flux data.


Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience working with ecosystem-scale flux data.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to work with raw ecosystem-scale flux data collected using the eddy covariance technique, with a critical understanding on how to QA/QC the data, data reduction techniques, gap-filling strategies, and interpretation of results.


Appointment Information


This is a 100% full-time Academic Professional position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after closing date. Salary is $75,000 per year.
