The SLS Direct Support Professional (DSP) plays a crucial role in implementing Individual Support Plans (ISPs) in collaboration with program participants and their support teams, ensuring that individuals receive the necessary support to achieve their goals.

How will I contribute
Provide timely support for any issues that may impact participants well-being by observing, assessing, and reporting concerns to the program manager. Collaborate with participants and their support teams to achieve their goals by implementing assigned training plans and participating in assessment, planning, and evaluation processes. Assist with the self-administration of medication as needed and ensure the care and safety of individuals without physical or verbal abuse, exploitation, or prejudice. Transport participants to community events and appointments. Facilitate individual and group learning experiences. Uphold the agency's positive reputation by engaging with individuals both within and outside the CCMRS community through professional conduct and effective communication. Work for assigned individuals per the posted schedule of supports and be willing to cover shifts as needed. Maintain accurate records, including timely completion of all daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly support documentation, and track participant progress towards goals. Collaborate with Kings View team members by participating in team meetings, maintaining accurate documentation, responding to inquiries, and engaging in proactive problem-solving. Maintain positive relationships and communication with participants legal representatives and community service agencies. Promote healthy group dynamics by adhering to established boundaries and expectations and participate in conflict resolution as needed. Attend all required meetings, training sessions, classes, and seminars for continuing education. Participate in IDT meetings as needed and perform any other assigned duties. Complete required continuing education, training, and certifications each year to meet Title 17 and Title 22 requirements as applicable to the position and assigned program(s). This position may include being on call at times, with one On Call Staff assigned each week on a rotating schedule. Be prepared to respond to emergency situations, verbally or physically, if/when you are the On Call Staff. Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall functioning and success of the program.

What I bring
High School Diploma (or Equivalent) Knowledge of best practices in behavioral health and support for individuals with developmental disabilities. Class C Driving License Adult First Aid and CPR certification Ability to interact effectively with management, ability to work with a diverse population, ability to work with clients with behaviors. Organization skills, time management skills, good written and verbal communication skills, multi-tasking skills, critical thinking, active listening, reading comprehension, interpretation, problem-solving, teaching, and comparing. Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule to meet program participants' needs. Understand, adhere to, and actively implement the Kings View Residential Services: Vision, Mission, Core Values, and Staff Covenant, staff professional conduct standards, program-specific policies and procedures, and the holistic supports and services model. Ability to perform emergency first aid and CPR as needed. Ability to implement support plans. Positive attitude, solid work ethic, responsible, self-disciplined, creative, culturally competent, empathetic, socially perceptive, flexible and adaptable. Must be at least age 21 and comply with Community Care Licensing personnel requirements: have a criminal record clearance, evidence of good health (pass a physical) and a negative TB test. 6 months of relevant direct experience; on-the-job training may be considered. Knowledge in utilizing assistive devices (e.g., mechanical lifts, wheelchairs, walkers, hearing aids, adaptive feeding utensils, etc.). preferred
