Senior Level Dosimetrist needed for a great practice in Lakeland, FL!


DIRECT HIRE


NO TRAVEL


PAY: $140-$170/K YEARLY


Essential Functions



Lead the dosimetry department in generating high quality treatment plans with the treatment planning system or by manual computation that will deliver a prescribed dose according to the Radiation oncologist's prescriptions. While maintain appropriate doses to dose limiting structures per department policy per treatment site


Lead dosimetry department in ensuring consistent continuing education program.


Collaborates with physicians and physicists in the department to refine or implement new treatment planning procedures and policies.


The Lead Senior Dosimetrist (or designee) will participate in chart rounds and safety and quality meetings and support a consistent treatment planning approach across all practice sites.


  • Participates in clinical research within the department for patients enrolled in clinical trials, as well as implementation of new techniques

  • Identify needs and sets goals for own growth and development as well as the dosimetry team.

  • Meets all mandatory annual training required by institution

  • Maintain competency in all standards relevant to job performance

  • Perform other duties that help meet the needs of the department

  • Continues to perform the duties of a senior medical dosimetrist for all clinical work as needed and deemed fit by Watson clinic.



Supervisory Responsibility



• Coordinates project tasks, resources, and activities. Works with other business or clinical functions as appropriate to enhance dosimetry department and quality.


• Acts as a project team leader on an as needed basis.


• Uses standardized project management methodology.


• Supervise and lead complex treatment planning like 3D, IMRT, SRS, SBRT, Velocity integration.


• Lead the department's partnership with a dosimetry training school and medical physics residency rotations when applicable), ensuring appropriate oversight and compliance with program goals and timelines.

  • Actively participates to move the team toward the completion of goals.

  • Makes procedural or process suggestions for achieving team goals or performing team functions; provides necessary resources or helps to remove obstacles to help the team accomplish its goals.

Required Education and Experience



Associate in Science degree in radiation therapy program. Minimum seven (7) years of experience in Medical Dosimetry


Preferred Education and Experience



Prefer Bachelor in Science degree in related field, Expert in Eclipse 11, SRS, SBRT, Aria 11, VMAT, Microsoft, Fusion and CMD. Previous experience in Head & Neck, Prostate , Breast, HDR and Variseed. Ten (10) years' experience in Medical Dosimetry
