JOB RESPONSIBILLITIES:

Conducts daily chart rounds and picks up paper charts from the designated clinical units.

Scans medical records into the EMR & ensures accuracy in accordance with various quality guidelines from Johnson Memorial Health (JMH), state, federal, and accreditation agencies.

Distributes inter-office mail to the Medical Information Department staff.

Scans outside facility medical records into the patient’s EMR.

Prints all ambulance reports from the ESO system and scans the data into the patient’s EMR.

Faxes carbon copy reports to the designated Provider. Assists with researching the Provider’s fax number as needed to ensure it is distributed to the correct office.

Monitors the copy room fax tray and distributes all incoming faxed data.

Distributes daily charts to the Medical Records Analyst’s office (surgery charts, inpatient charts). After the Analyst’s review scans all remaining documents into the patient’s medical record. Scans the entire chart for “Mom’s and Babies.”

Performs daily mail run to various JMH Physician Offices to pick up data & deliver new folders.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:

High school graduate or equivalent required. One year or more previous experience in a medical information department preferred.
