Student Success supports each student's personal growth, development, engagement, and belonging by providing holistic guidance as they navigate their own W&M journey. Academic Wellbeing guides students to the completion of their academic goals by creating an accessible, responsive, constructive, learner-centered space for students to become active, independent, and confident learners. Meeting students where they are as learners, Academic Wellbeing at William & Mary promotes success by supporting the development of academic skills and strategies, personal responsibility, and an understanding of University culture and effective decision-making. The office supports the instructional objectives of the faculty and advances the educational and retention efforts of William & Mary in a coordinated effort to support student academic success and wellbeing.
The Assistant Director for Academic Resilience is integral in managing the day-to-day operation of the various educational and departmental programs and initiatives in the areas of academic success, academic wellbeing, student persistence, strategic learning, and community development. The Assistant Director will provide individual advice and guidance for students on academic intervention programs, including students on academic warning, academic probation, and academic suspension. This position will serve as the liaison to graduate schools to develop ongoing collaborative relationships and the Office of Undergraduate Academic Affairs to ensure students are meeting academic standards. The Assistant Director will supervise a Graduate Assistant and over 15 student employees. This position will serve in the on-call rotation and on the university's emergency response team.
Employee will be required to participate in the On- Call rotation and the care reporting system.
