Scope:


Perform functions to sub-assemble and install designated components at final assembly phase of HVAC unit production, working in compliance with instructions and prescribed routines, methods or procedures and involving the making of minor decisions.



Essential Duties:


  • Work from bill of material (BOM), assembly drawings, prints, wiring diagrams, and work instructions.





  • Ensure availability, and validate and inspect all sheet metal parts, purchased parts, foam panels, and assembly drawings, ensuring they match the BOM. Notify supervisor of any discrepancies.





  • Pre-assemble doors to include hinges, handles, cutouts, and sheet metal parts. Pre-assemble panels, and verify requirements for cutouts and sheet metal parts. Pre-assemble storm decks, condenser fans, damper boxes, heater cover, and hoods per BOM and assembly drawings.





  • Install and fasten pultrusions and studs onto unit, ensuring compliant fit, alignment and secure attachment.





  • Sub-assemble and install wire components, including wire sensors, motors, condensing fans wires, and door switches in compliance with wiring diagram.





  • Validate panel and door layout, and verify the correct quantity of panels and part numbers and inspect for cosmetic defects prior to installation. Install and fasten doors and panels and door hold backs. Install studs, fasten roof panels, and apply sealants.





  • Install and fasten seal ducts, filter boxes, damper and actuators, storm decks, rain gutters, and heater covers. Install pre-assembled condenser fan.





  • Pre-assemble react motor, plate motor and wheel and move motor assembly to base unit.





  • Perform required final installations to comply with BOM including non-standard parts, labels, signs, and stickers. Install, fasten, and seal hoods and braces.





  • Secure all uninstalled parts to avoid shifting in transit. Stage unit for next phase of production.





  • Notify team leader or other appropriate resource when problems arise concerning equipment, operations, materials, inventory, or documentation.

  • Perform or assist with any operations, as required to maintain workflow and to meet schedules and quality requirements.





  • Maintain work areas in a clean and orderly condition. Consistently operate in keeping with all safety rules and requirements.





  • Participate in any variety of meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems, and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, and policies.





  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
