The Role

The AVP-Strategic Planning will work closely with the Chief of Staff to the CEO of Moody's, providing strategic, operational, project, and administrative support. This role offers frequent exposure to the executive leadership team and requires a combination of focus and flexibility, a willingness to play an active, behind-the-scenes role, the ability to anticipate and navigate through ambiguity, and an extraordinary level of personal and professional integrity and discretion.

Responsibilities:

  • Support regular management rhythm, including topics for ELT meetings, agendas, and coordination of monthly reviews to drive the execution of the MCO Strategic Plan, quarterly operating reviews, and coordination of MCO board engagement.

  • Lead special projects to support the Chief of Staff, often involving confidential and time-sensitive matters that require quick turnaround. Execute with minimal direction or outside assistance.

  • Coordinate across Chiefs of Staff throughout the organization and support the MIS Chief of Staff with all other necessary activities.

  • Help prepare for CEO external engagements with customers, regulators, policymakers, and other key stakeholders. Coordinate internally to assemble briefing materials and follow up.

  • Ensure an effective communication strategy and execution plan for the CEO, including creating an inventory of communication events, drafting or working with others to develop communication programs and deliverables.

  • Work closely with the CEO's Executive Assistant on the CEO's schedule, determining when the CEO's attendance is required at requested meetings and ensuring there is a clear agenda and objectives.

Requirements:

  • Unquestionable personal code of ethics.

  • Highly-developed communication skills (written/verbal) and interpersonal savvy (EQ).

  • Results/action-orientation with a proven ability to manage projects and initiatives to completion.

  • Ability to successfully navigate within varying degrees of ambiguity in a fast-paced environment and effectively give feedback and direction.

  • Strong strategic/financial analysis skills and understanding of Moody's business.

  • 5-10 years of experience in progressively more senior and complex roles, ideally involving some combination of strategy, customer engagement, financial analysis, and/or project management.

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is [[$133,100 - [[$192,950, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation.
