Job Description

Manage a portfolio of branded suppliers and an emerging Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) category to obtain the best financial and operational position between both companies. Serve as the primary liaison between vendor and Medline for those suppliers.


  • Manage various business functions for the Vendor Relations team as required.


  • Manage a portfolio of roughly 100 branded suppliers to obtain the best financial and operational position between both companies. Serve as the primary liaison between the supplier and Medline.


  • Own Vendor Relations business functions such as, but not limited to: acting as site administrator for the Active Community vendor portal platform; serving as primary contact for new vendor on-boarding and associated responsibilities, acting as site administrator for the ZenDesk Ticket System.


  • Under the guidance of Vendor Relations management and Medline’s Legal team, negotiate agreements with suppliers to achieve improved financial terms and conditions. Types of agreements include but are not limited do; Distribution Agreements, Operational Efficiency Agreements, and Transportation Agreements.


  • Develop and grow the new business category, Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) by collaborating with Medline internal Analysts, Marketing and Sales Departments.


  • Understand market dynamics for the CPG category to capture trade dollars through marketing programs


  • Serve as the escalation point of contact for all functional areas in the distribution division working with the supplier to problem solve and mediate through challenges and opportunities that arise.


  • Respond to supplier related questions or issues for efficient/effective resolution.


  • Attend and/or support supplier business reviews under VRM leadership or other industry/divisional events.


Basic Qualifications

Education / Experience

Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of marketing, product management or sales experience.

Additional

Advanced level skill in Microsoft Office with a strong focus in Excel and Word (for example: creating pivot tables, using SUM function, setting borders, setting column width, inserting charts, using text wrap, sorting, setting headers and footers and/or print scaling).

Position requires travel up to 25% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).
