ECS is seeking an AWS AI Infrastructure Engineer to work remote.



Job Description:


We are looking for an AWS AI Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, and maintain an AWS-based platform for AI services. This role is responsible for all phases of development, modernization, and migration in support of a government multi-cloud environment with 50+ customer tenants and growing. Aside from technical qualifications, application should have effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

The applicant must have extensive experience architecting robust infrastructure that supports various AI solutions, deploying those solutions across the platform, and providing ongoing support for tenants using the environment. A passion for performance, strong desire for quality conformance, excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail are prerequisites for this position.


Key Responsibilities

  • Platform Architecture and Build
    • Design and develop a scalable infrastructure platform in AWS to support machine learning and AI workloads.
    • Implement best practices for AWS cloud architecture, security, performance, and high availability.
    • Integrate and configure key AWS Servicers, including AWS SageMaker, Amazon Rekognition, AWS Lambda, Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Services (EKS), and other AI workloads.
  • AI Solution Development
    • Implement and deploy AWS AI solutions across the platform to meet tenant requirements.
    • Collaborate with development and data science teams to operationalize machine learning models and AI services such as SageMaker and AWS Deep Learning AMIs.
    • Automate deployment of AI Services using AWS CodePipeline, AWS CodeBuild, or other CI/CD tools.
  • Monitoring and Support
    • Continuously monitor the health, performance, and security of the AI platform using tools like Amazon CloudWatch, AWS Security Hub, and AWS Config.
    • Support tenants in troubleshooting, optimizing workloads, and resolving issues as they onboard and scale within the environment.
    • Provide ongoing platform support and ensure timely resolution of incidents and service requests.
  • Optimization and Continuous Improvement
    • Identify areas for performance improvement in the AI infrastructure and purpose optimization solutions.
    • Implement patching, updates, and enhancements to ensure the platform remains current and secure.
    • Develop automation scripts to manage cloud infrastructure and improve operational efficiency.
  • Collaboration and Documentation
    • Provide technical guidance to tenants and mentorship to junior team members.
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful integration of AI services.
    • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation on infrastructure design, processes, and best practices.


Salary Range: $145,000 - $165,000

Required Skills:

  • Minimum 7+ years of experience directly related work in area of expertise.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. (Equivalent years of experience may also be substituted for education).
  • 5+ years of experience designing, building, and monitoring AWS Infrastructure.
  • Experience implementing AWS AI/ML solutions and model deployment.
  • Familiarity with managing systems in the cloud and infrastructure-as-code tools, such as Terraform and Ansible.
  • Experience with AI/ML Frameworks (e.g. TensorFlow, PyTorch).
  • Solid understanding of networking, security, and system architecture.


Required Certifications:
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect.
  • AWS Certified Machine Learning.



Desired Skills:

  • Familiarity with Kubernetes and other container orchestration platforms.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
