ECS is seeking an Azure AI Infrastructure Engineer to work remote.
Job Description:
We are looking for an Azure AI Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, and maintain an Azure-based platform for AI services. This role is responsible for all phases of development, modernization, and migration in support of a government multi-cloud environment with 50+ customer tenants and growing. Aside from technical qualifications, application should have effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
The applicant must have extensive experience architecting robust infrastructure that supports various AI solutions, deploying those solutions across the platform, and providing ongoing support for tenants using the environment. A passion for performance, strong desire for quality conformance, excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail are prerequisites for this position.
LOCATION: Remote (but must reside and perform all work within the United States)
WORK HOURS: This position requires working online from 8:00 AM Eastern to 5:00 PM Eastern
Key Responsibilities
Platform Architecture and Build
Design and develop a scalable infrastructure platform in Microsoft Azure to support AI workloads.
Implement best practices for Azure cloud architecture, security, scalability, and performance.
Integrate and configure services such as Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Machine Learning, Azure Cognitive Services, and other AI-related tools.
AI Solution Development
Implement and deploy Azure AI solutions across the platform to meet tenant requirements.
Collaborate with development and data science teams to operationalize machine learning models and AI services.
Automate deployment processes using CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps or similar tools.
Monitoring and Support
Continuously monitor the health, performance, and security of the AI platform using tools like Azure Monitor, Azure Security Center, and Azure Sentinel.
Support tenants in troubleshooting, optimizing workloads, and resolving issues as they onboard and scale within the environment.
Provide ongoing platform support and ensure timely resolution of incidents and service requests.
Optimization and Continuous Improvement
Identify areas for performance improvement in the AI infrastructure and purpose optimization solutions.
Implement patching, updates, and enhancements to ensure the platform remains current and secure.
Develop automation scripts to manage cloud infrastructure and improve operational efficiency.
Collaboration and Documentation
Provide technical guidance to tenants and mentorship to junior team members.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful integration of AI services.
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation on infrastructure design, processes, and best practices.
Salary Range: $145,000 - $165,000

Required Skills:
Minimum 7+ years of experience directly related work in area of expertise.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. (Equivalent years of experience may also be substituted for education).
5+ years of experience designing, building, and monitoring Azure Infrastructure .
Experience implementing Azure AI/ML solutions and model deployment.
Familiarity with managing systems in the cloud and infrastructure-as-code tools, such as Terraform and Ansible.
Experience with AI/ML Frameworks (e.g. TensorFlow, PyTorch).
Solid understanding of networking, security, and system architecture.
Required Certifications:
Azure Certified Solutions Architect.
Azure Certified Machine Learning.
Desired Skills:
Familiarity with Kubernetes and other container orchestration platforms.
Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
