Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit:

The UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy (www.pharmacy.unc.edu) is one of six health science schools (Pharmacy, Nursing, Dentistry, Social Work, Public Health, Medicine) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is one of the oldest health science academic programs at Chapel Hill. Position Summary:

To support research under the supervision of Dr. Marina Sokolsky-Papkov. Operations will involve animal handling and breeding, administration of research compounds, processing of mouse tissue for downstream analysis (histology, FACS), techniques of molecular biology and cell culture.


This position will assist in lab organization and upkeep; help in identifying problems, troubleshoot and analyze variations observed and reported in regular testing protocols; modify, refine or adapt techniques and procedures as instructed by PI; assist to modify and/or adjust quality control measures and the ability to provide data analysis and communication through data organization (charts/tables), writing (methods and techniques, results) and presentation (power point, papers).


Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.


Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience:

Previous experience in mice colony support, breeding, genotyping and Wes-blotting.
