The opportunity:

The Sr. Release Engineer develops software builds and releases with our Salesforce Platform. The incumbent designs and develops builds, scripts, installation procedures, and systems including source code control and issue tracking. Works closely with a quality assurance team to ensure final version is up to organizational standards. Mentors and guides release team as needed. Supports Enterprise Release Management objectives to plan and execute Salesforce Application releases with a 99.5% accuracy rate.

How you will contribute:


  • Automates deployments by scripting application releases with Power-Shell to run via command lines and ARA (application release automation) tools. Deployment automation requirements from simple msi installations to complex multi-application Salesforce deployments.

  • Provides subject matter expertise for ANT, GIT source control, Release Management for Visual Studio 2013. Cross trains operations staff and production support staff in application release automation tool.

  • Ensures all security and compliance guidelines for application release candidates are met; application releases moving to production environments have been successfully tested, have adequate business approval and application owner sign-off to proceed.

  • Coordinates releases to production after business hours according to service level agreement guidelines serving as the primary contact. Assess the need for potential rollbacks during release implementation and obtain the necessary approvals to proceed.

  • Facilitates lessons learned meetings for release issues and follows through on resolutions incorporating them into best release practices where applicable.

  • Provides semi-annual rollback testing on non-production environments for major application components.

  • Assists in release management activities for improving current release practices, new processes and projects that drive value for the business.

  • Other projects impacting release management as assigned.

Preferred

  • Advanced knowledge in GIT Source Control Branching model. Minimum of 2 years of experience preferred.

  • Knowledge of Knowledge of MS Release Management for Visual Studio 2013 a plus.


What you will bring with you:

  • BS or equivalent and 5 years work experience in computer sciences or related field, or equivalent combination

  • 2 years scripting experience with PowerShell.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Team Foundation server, release Management Process. Experience with code merge and conflict resolution.

  • Responsible to design and provide specifications for resources in Azure cloud or equivalent for multi-platform applications

  • Contributes to the design, implementation, and deployment strategies including on premise and Cloud applications

  • Knowledge of Salesforce Release process.

  • Knowledge of ANT Migration Tool and at least 2 year of experience on the use of the tool.

  • Demonstrates sound technical skills with a strong working knowledge of scripting.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in an Agile development framework

  • Excellent organization and prioritization skills

  • Effective oral and written communication skills

  • Required to attend additional training as requested/deemed necessary.

Preferred

  • Southern California region: $103,900 - $155,900 annually


  • Central California region: $109,600 - $164,400 annually

  • Northern California region: $117,100 - $175,700 annually




If you are a Minnesota, Colorado or Nevada resident , the salary range for this position is $99,200 - $148,800 annually



If you are a n Illinois, Connecticut or Maryland resident, the salary range for this position is $103,900 - $155,900 annually



If you are Washington , Washington D.C., and Rhode Island resident, the salary range for this position is $109,600 - $164,400 annually



If you are a New York resident , the salary range for this position is $117,100 - $175,700 annually
