Program ManagerTNPRC Veterinary Medicine

Location: Covington, LA

Summary

With broad oversight, the Program Manager manages creation and scheduling for Division animal care and research work, ensuring each project or animal work is up to standard and meets its goals and objectives. This position requires a high level of service and covers a variety of responsibilities in the areas of data management, organization, communication problem solving and data entry. Serves as primary registrar of animal records data at the Tulane National Primate Research Center (TNPRC), regularly entering animal information and project work schedule into the TNPRC animal records database. Prepares and distributes weekly and daily schedules to the Division of Veterinary Medicine faculty and staff. Maintains electronic documentation associated with animal records on TNPRC Dellserver-including daily e-filing and document organization. Communicates with internal and external collaborators to process, investigate, and interpret animal work and research projects into animal records database to produce weekly and daily schedules. Serves as backup registrar for births and deaths animal record entry, animal transfers out of the Center and South Campus administrative duties.



May be designated as essential personnel during a storm/natural disaster. If required to work during a closure, employee must provide accurate and current contact information and is responsible for maintaining communication with TNPRC. Failure to report to work when requested by supervisor or manager will result in disciplinary action as outlined by the Staff Handbook.

* Bachelor's Degree OR* High School diploma/equivalent and six years of directly related experience* Two years of experience in data entry* Specific precautions against and/or be immunized against potentially hazardous agents are required.


Preferred Qualifications

* Experience working in an academic or research setting* Business courses/business certification/some college* Previous scheduling experience* Proficiency/experience with Tulane data entry systems and animal records programs
