Summary

This position is located at Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Operations Division, Office of Finance and Procurement. The incumbent serves as the Financial Manager responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the financial management of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, including responsibility for financial policy, transactions, accounting, reporting, systems and maintaining financial oversight of funds expenditures and collections.

Responsibilities

As a Supervisory Accountant (Financial Manager), you will:

• Develop CFPB financial management policies and procedures. Maintain thorough knowledge and familiarity with laws, rules, and other directives pertaining to financial management and acts as an authoritative resource. Ensure compliance with CFPB and other financial management laws, policies, regulations, etc.


• Review and approve financial reports and statements. Oversee the preparation of internal and external financial reporting, including the financial statements and Annual Financial Report.


• Develop, monitor, and ensure that CFPB spending is in accordance with financial policies, regulations and best practices. Develop and issue guidance, as necessary.


• Oversee, manage and direct staff in daily, month-end, quarter-end and end-of-year activities for CFPB and ensures timely completion of transactions and activities, including collections, disbursements, receivables, payables, journal entries, reconciliations, reviews, purchase requisitions and other transactions.

• Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position.
