Job Description Summary



Assists maintenance department in the installation of equipment and repairing of machinery. Retrieves parts and tools for maintenance personnel.



Job Description



  • Responsible for working in a safe and orderly manner while in the plant or on plant property.

  • Aids maintenance personnel in dismantling defective machines and equipment and helps install new or repaired parts.

  • Aids maintenance by lubricating shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.

  • Retrieves parts and tools for maintenance personnel.


  • Reports malfunction of processing and/or packaging equipment to lead or supervisor as needed.

  • Utilizes sound ergonomic practices such as job rotation when appropriate and as quickly as possible.

  • Works in temperature extremes.

  • Keeps work area clean.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.




Basic & Preferred Qualifications



  • High School Diploma/GED.

  • Must have basic training in Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space, Fall Protection, and Sanitation, including GMP training, chemical handling, and cleaning procedures.

  • Must know the location of the controls and emergency stop switches in the plant.

  • Operate, inspect, maintain, setup, and cleanup of plant lubrication systems, bearings, and grease lines. Assist regular maintenance as required. Will be required to work downtime overtime with regular maintenance during shutdowns.

  • Must have good communication skills, written and verbal. Must be able to follow written instructions and possess good math skills.

  • Must be able to obtain forklift operators license.

  • Will need to acquire entry level maintenance tool inventory.

  • Must complete, maintain, and follow all safety guidelines, including LOTO.

  • Must be organized, and must be able to manage time wisely.
