Description: Our client is currently seeking a Sr. Cost Accountant that will work closely with the operations and leadership team for budgeting; forecasting; establishing processes and how current processes can be improved.
Onsite at least 4 -5 days a week (some flexibility/open to discuss start/end time)
Job Summary
Under minimum supervision, this position includes the daily management of new and existing systems, developing new financial systems, as well as the maintenance, monitoring, and enhancing of existing systems. This position will evaluate the adequacy of and implement improvements to those systems in accordance with FASB, IRS, and SEC regulations. Such systems may include General Accounting and Cost Accounting.
This job will have the following responsibilities:
Develops, maintains, and monitors financial systems
Analyzes problems and implements solutions to ensure consistency and accuracy of the financial systems.
Computes and analyzes manufacturing variances and reviews with manufacturing personnel, providing timely and meaningful cost accounting information and analysis for manufacturing.
Provides training on transactions and procedures to internal customers as required.
Work cross functionally with business partners to prepare full profit and loss plan for assigned product lines and to develop cost estimates of new products.
Qualifications & Requirements:
5+ years within a manufacturing environment/industry exp, medical device would be helpful
SAP experience preferred, but open to other ERP systems (Oracle); MS Office/proficient w/Excel.
Knowledge of or prior experience with PowerBI
Understanding of journal entries and transactions
