Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Quality Technician located in Salt Lake City, UT.

Reporting to the Engineering Supervisor, the Quality Technician role involves being in charge of performing product inspection and/or audits of quality control programs, first article inspections, and calibrations. Inspects flat blank layouts, out of box audits (OBA), and sampling/testing of incoming components and raw materials.

What a typical day looks like:


  • Tests and inspects products, audits processes, and develops/ evaluates statistical data to define and maintain quality/ reliability of products.

  • Analyzing rejects/defects for patterns of process errors or other areas of concern.

  • Monitors yield reports for both servers and racks.

  • Assists departments in root cause analysis and any corrective actions needed from audit findings.

  • Initiates QMS/process improvements.

  • Utilizes engineering drawings, specifications, written descriptions, procedures, work instructions and Flex systems.

  • Selects processes, primarily in manufacturing areas, and examines features/practices including ESD, handling practices, documentation, training, and process integrity.

  • Evaluates products for dimensions, performance, and electrical or cosmetic characteristics.

  • Applies statistical quality control procedures when recording audit data.

  • Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.

  • Perform quality alerts for operation or quality station for a recurrent defects, customer complaints.

  • Acheives optimum quality, within limits of equipment capability, by recommending modifications to existing programs, reports, or quality/ production standards.

  • Performs calibration on inspection tools (micrometers, calipers height gages, etc).

  • May be required to maintains and follows up with gage calibration tracking programs and records.

  • Prepares and enters data into charts and graphs for research purposes.  

  • Utilizes engineering test results to implement changes needed to resolve process problems.

  • Initiates a factory hold / purge to identify and resolve issues associated with purchased parts, materials, and work in process (WIP).

  • Scrap, RTV, RTV/RWK disposition at Fish market within company set time frame.

  • Meets SSYMA requirements (boots, goggles, gloves, ear plugs, etc).

  • Reviews SPC data and confirms the actions are effective.

  • Validates that the toolings and gauges are working properly (microscope, magnifier, etc).

  • Perform FAIs and reports related for new product introduction, new product transferred.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:


  • Has awareness of Flex technologies/ techniques.

  • Ability to utilize charts, tables, and specifications.

  • Ability to operate a variety of measuring instruments.

  • Quality Tools: 8d, statistical process control, FEMA and control plans, and experience in ISO / ESD auditing.

  • Office Skills: telephones, data entry, office software including word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation packages. 

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondences.

  • Ability to speak and understand English.
