The Maintenance Supervisor I leads the skilled technical personnel in the maintenance and repair of plant machinery, tooling, equipment and building services in a safe and effective manner.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provides guidance, direction and training to personnel in respective areas as needed
Ensures all work by skilled personnel is performed in a safe manner and in accordance with OSHA and company safety standards
Prioritizes maintenance activities in accordance with production requirements to ensure minimal machine down time
Implements and maintains work orders and ensures appropriate feedback is supplied to the initiators
Develop and implement schedules and procedures for equipment repairs and preventative maintenance programs
Meets with Operations to review production downtime and other production problems, and to assist in coordination of efforts to minimize effects of problems
Ensures that items are available in tool crib and orders for replacement parts are submitted timely
Ensures that 6S standards are being maintained within the maintenance/tooling department, tool crib and work areas
Direct and allocate overtime hours as schedules require supporting all production activities
Performs/assists in associate performance reviews and discussions
Supports continuous improvement projects
Participates in, and provides training as required
Participates in and performs Layered Process Audits (LPA) per plan
Ensures Housekeeping and Health & Safety Standards are maintained
Complies with policies and procedures pertaining to facility or divisional adopted standards such as TS 16949 and ISO 14001
Utilizes the concepts of continuous improvement including Lean
May, on occasion, be required to perform duties other than those specified in this description
Education and Qualifications:
Four year College or University Degree/Technical degree in Engineering/related field preferred
Minimum of three years' experience in automotive industry
Prior leadership experience preferred
Technical ability to solve complex problems and exercise judgement based on the analysis of multiple sources of information
Experience in a variety of basic operations disciplines: Manufacturing, Quality, Process / Tooling and Shop Floor Supervision
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Willingness and ability to travel, as necessary

Professional Office Environment
Must wear proper personal protection equipment while on manufacturing floor
Travel to manufacturing facilities or customer locations when required
Equipment used requires proper training on the potential for and avoidance of injury
