Description: The Sr Data Engineer is responsible for the build, design, maintenance, optimal performance and security of extract transform and load, tools and processes, while acting as the primary enterprise wide data integration contact. This position serves as the primary point of contact for strategic data integration vendor relationships, and ensures vendor accountability and alignment to business objectives. This position will be responsible for understanding and evaluating applicable risk associated with data integration systems, and will provide guidance to leadership.
Responsibilities: Oversee the work of Data Engineers, including planning, assigning and scheduling work, reviewing work and ensuring quality standards, training staff and productivity. (30%) Performs data integration analysis and design reviews. (20%) Assists in the research and fact-finding to develop or modify data warehouse structures. (20%) Create and implement standard operating procedures and processes for the department and enforce departmental policy compliance. (10%) Provides technical input to assist in development of project planning. (10%) Performs additional responsibilities as requested or assigned. (10%)
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science or related technical field or equivalent work experience. (Typically, four years of additional related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor's degree.) 7-10 years IT operation experience with strong understanding of data warehouse structures, theories, principles, and practices. The Database Administrator Lead position requires 5+ years of lead experience in data integration or data warehousing on Oracle Data Integrator. Expert-level knowledge of Oracle Data Integrator including data profiling, cleansing and validation. Expert level understanding of how to do performance tuning of data warehouse loads and queries. Effective oral and written communication skills utilizing your ability to work with other ETL developers to help them learn and grow in their abilities. Effective analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
