We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. The ideal candidate will assist in maintaining accurate financial records, performing general accounting tasks, and supporting the overall financial operations of the company. This role requires strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to work effectively within a team.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports
Reconcile general ledger accounts and bank statements to ensure accuracy
Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and accruals
Maintain and update fixed asset records and depreciation schedules
Perform accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and accounting standards
Assist in audits, including preparing necessary documentation and supporting schedules
Manage daily cash flow and monitor company expenditures
Prepare and file tax documents such as sales tax, use tax, and other compliance filings
Conduct variance analysis to identify discrepancies and improve financial reporting
Collaborate with the team to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiency
Support ad-hoc financial projects and initiatives as required
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
2+ years of relevant experience in accounting or finance
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage) and Microsoft Excel
Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting
