Join the Spectroscopy R&D Team where we continue to innovate and develop our premier line of FTIR and Raman spectroscopy products! Help to lead system definition, integration & validation aspects of product development in collaboration with engineering professionals and scientists.



How will you make an impact:



We are seeking a Systems Engineer to contribute to the specifications, development, and implementation of our scientific instrumentation. Your role will involve integrating various components and subsystems, developing system architecture and optical designs, and implementing test plans to ensure performance and resolve failures.



What will you do:



  • System Design and Development: Collaborate with multi-functional teams, including R&D engineers, marketing, and operations, to define system requirements and specifications. Craft and develop system architectures that meet the desired performance, functionality, and reliability criteria.


  • Component Integration: Coordinate the integration of various hardware and software components, such as sensors, detectors, optics, and electronics control systems, into the overall system design.


  • Testing and Validation: Lead FMEA, DoE, RCCA activities and drive follow up with project team members.


  • Problem Solving: Provide technical expertise in resolving complex system-level issues by collaborating with engineering teams to diagnose and resolve technical problems.


  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed technical reports, including system specifications, design documents, test plans, and reports. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of system configurations, modifications, and design records.



How will you get here:



  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Systems, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, MS or equivalent experience preferred.



Experience:



  • 7+ years of technical leadership in requirements-based product development of scientific laboratory equipment - spectrometer experience highly preferred.



Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:



  • Proficiency with data analysis techniques and software (JMP, R, Excel).


  • Programming skills to support development of custom test fixtures (C#, Python).


  • Ability to apply scientific principles to tackle multi-functional or domain design challenges.


  • Proven record breaking down technical problems and delivering solutions.


  • Proven system level experience pertaining to scientific instrumentation products.


  • Ability to independently drive innovative solutions, test practices, and new technologies.


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
