As a Medical Laboratory Scientist at Vitalant, you support our life saving mission by providing skilled technical support in the laboratory as you perform high complexity Blood Bank testing.

• Perform moderate complexity testing in the lab for quality control of components, single donor platelet yields, and automated red cell technology problems


• QC Testing, bacterial detection, inoculation, cell count, blood typing, titer testing.

Requirements

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological, medical technology or clinical laboratory science required.

Certifications and Experience:

• MLS I - Certification as a Medical Technologist/MLS/BB by a recognized certifying agency required. (or must receive certification within 6 months of eligibility). No experience required.


• MLS II- Certification as a Medical Technologist/MLS/BB by a recognized certifying agency or CLIA equivalent for high complexity testing required. Minimum of two years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
