Job Summary:

The Performance Manager will focus on optimizing the technical aspects of production at the precast concrete plant, ensuring high levels of efficiency, quality, and resource management. This role will oversee quality control, purchasing, workforce development, production scheduling, and forming. The position will also be responsible for measuring and reporting operational performance of the plant by creating Key Performance Indicators in conjunction with business goals. The Performance Manager will collaborate with the Plant Manager to support seamless production, balancing the technical requirements with operational demands for efficient production.


Essential Functions:

1. Develop master production schedule, including both macro production schedule and individual bed production schedules.

2. Oversee and provide leadership and technical support for Quality Control

3. Develop and implement key performance indicators that measures and tracks quality and productivity performance

4. Oversee purchasing activities while developing methods and systems to optimize costs and inventory-on-quantities

5. Oversee the Quality Control Manager to ensure all products meet required specifications and standards.

6. Provide leadership and technical support for workforce development initiatives including development of training material and facilitating training as appropriate

7. Oversee the Plant Engineer and the Forming department to ensure all technical aspects of production are running smoothly, with a focus on improving finished product quality, production efficiency, and reducing waste.

8. Manage production scheduling, ensuring the timely delivery of products while balancing operational capacity and technical requirements.

9. Lead efforts to adopt and implement technological advancements from general industry as well as in conjunction with design department including integration of operations with ERP system and associated software packages

10. Collaborate closely with the other operations leaders and design team to align production processes with technical and quality objectives.

11. Collaborate with General Manager

12. Enforce strict compliance to Company Safety Policies and Procedures

13. Commitment to participate in company safety program and enforce safe working practices throughout all areas of operations as part of the management team

14. Ensure the manufactured product meets all company and industry standards and customer specifications.

15. Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse work environment with all levels of employees

16. Travel to job site locations when needed



Requirements, Education and Experience:

1.Extensive industry product and production method knowledge (Precast/Prestressed concrete)

2.Training Experience

3.Proficient with Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint

4.Experience with ERP Production / Scheduling systems

5.Demonstrated experience in leadership, problem-solving, creativity, strategic thinking, fostering cooperation and teamwork.

6.Strong organizational skills with experience in managing complex production schedules

7.Proven ability to drive efficiency improvements while maintaining high-quality standards

8.Authorized to work in the U.S.

Travel:

Position may require up to 10% travel by personal vehicle to offices throughout the state of New York, and New England based on the needs of the business.


Work Environment/Physical Demands:

This position is located in a manufacturing plant & construction environment. This position works on or near moving mechanical parts and loud equipment. Requires the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time as well as lifting, pulling, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, walking, reaching, driving, and repetitive motion.
