Who Were Looking For - Reporting to the VP, Product Management, we are seeking a highly motivated Senior Product Engineer to join the MANSCAPED Product Development, Quality and Regulatory team. We seek a creative problem solver who possesses an intuitive grasp of physics and engineering fundamentals and is passionate about solving the tough engineering challenges required to be the first to deliver innovative new products to market. The PDQ&R team researches and develops new technologies and integrates them into new products. This role will be responsible for the performance of our products and how they work as well as set the direction for assigned projects and then execute on it as a lead engineer. The core focus of this role is always technology R&D and must have a deep technical mastery of their field, but they must also be able to work, think, and communicate cross-functionally as part of a broader product development team

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with product managers to understand customer needs and translate them into technical requirements
  • Collaborate with designers to ensure that the product design aligns with user experience and usability goals
  • Participate in design reviews, brainstorming sessions, and team meetings to contribute ideas and insights
  • Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical colleagues clearly, effectively, and concisely both verbally and in writing
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including product specifications, design documentation, and test plans
  • Provide regular updates on project status, milestones, and risks to stakeholders
  • Prepare reports and presentations to communicate product progress, technical challenges, and proposed solutions
  • Ensure that the product meets quality standards and complies with relevant regulations and industry standards
  • Collaborate with quality assurance teams to develop and implement testing strategies and quality control processes
  • Ability to conduct early-stage R&D experiments to understand and identify key product features or parameters that drive product performance
  • Design and build prototypes, set up and execute test plans to learn how things work, analyze data to pull out deeper insights and put all these learnings into action by making design changes to our products
  • Continuously involved in the full product lifecycle from early-stage concept development to mass production
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors, Masters, or PhD in Engineering (Mechanical or related disciplines)
  • 7+ years of related experience in product design, electro-mechanical or consumer product development
  • Strong understanding of mechanical & electrical engineering fundamentals
  • Proven experience in designing, developing, and launching consumer goods, including fundamental understanding of market demands, user needs, and regulatory requirements specific to the consumer products industry
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among engineering, marketing, sales, and support teams to ensure a cohesive product engineering strategy
  • Stay updated on industry trends and competitor products, using insights to guide product engineering decisions
  • Solid analytical skills, attention to detail, and relentless drive to identify potential problems and take responsibility for their resolution
  • Intellectual curiosity and creativity, strong first principles thinking, and proven ability to deliver robust, elegant, and innovative solutions to complex design challenges
  • Ability to conduct early-stage R&D experiments to understand and identify key product features or parameters that drive product performance
  • Willingness to roll up sleeves and dive into hands-on development and testing workstreams
  • Familiarity with electronics (analog/digital), test equipment, and components common in small appliances (sensors, motors, PCBAs, etc.)
  • Comfortable multi-tasking and responding quickly to shifting priorities without losing sight of longer-term projects and goals
  • Familiarity with production processes such as injection molding
  • Demonstrated expertise in using CAD software to create detailed 2D and 3D models, renderings, and technical drawings
  • Familiarity with MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
