SARSTEDT, a leading manufacturer and distributor of blood collection and medical devices, laboratory consumables and instrumentation, seeks a Material Handler.
Summary
Responsible for receiving, maintaining and organizing production inventory.
Hours are: M-F 2:30pm to 11:00pm (some saturdays)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned as apparent or required by management.
Responsible for moving and storing inventory in the interim warehouse.
Maintain and organize inventory and performs physical inventory counts.
Responsible for pulling and staging product based on order demand.
Crosstrain in the Packing Department and unload product from the conveyor line and transfer product to the logistics center.
Work according to safety regulations at all times and reports unsafe conditions immediately.
Contribute to keeping the packing and interim warehouse areas clean and organized.
Complete administrative duties such as data entry, resolving minor issues, and making cardboard or plastic bales.
Requirements/Qualifications
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and three to six months related experience and/or training.
Forklift License and valid driver's license.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
The employee is regularly required to stand; walk and talk or hear.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
Work environment
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places and airborne particles.
The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock and vibration.
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
