This facility operates five days a week with the potential for overtime and produces Taco Shells, Tortilla Chips, and Tortillas.


POSITION SUMMARY:


Job Description


The Seasoner Operator is responsible for all equipment in the seasoning room, ensuring the continuous and efficient production of high-quality taco shells.


This position will also assist with the setup and breakdown of the production line and daily equipment checks to ensure they work correctly while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson's policies and procedures. This position will be responsible for working on rework and cleaning when needed. Machine Operator operates machinery for continuous and efficient production of high-quality flour tortillas. This position starts at $18.35/hr, with a shift increase of $1.00 for the third shift.



REQUIREMENT:



  • Applicant must have three months of 3 months of accumulative operator experience



RESPONSIBILITIES:





  • COMPLETED LOCKOUT/TAGOUT TRAINING REQUIRED before training or operating line.


  • Will be exposed to Nacho Cheese Seasoning, which has an Allergen

  • Operates all equipment in the seasoner room as defined in the Production Manual.

  • Prepares for start-up or shut down of equipment. Assist sanitation in teardown and cleaning when needed.

  • Keeps a legible and accurate record, including the Operators Log, as required.

  • Responsible for knowing how to start/stop the seasoner in manual or automatic modes.

  • Stops the machine to make required adjustments, following lockout-tagout policy.

  • Maintains good manufacturing practices and personal hygiene.

  • Keeps department clean and neat.

  • Notifies Supervisor and QC of contamination.

  • Must adhere to all safety policies and safely operate equipment.

  • Responsible for monitoring and reporting any wear and tear on equipment.

  • Responsible for properly loading ingredients into the machine.

  • Knows the appropriate amount of seasoning and correct cycle times as defined in the Production Manual SOP and understands the Operator interface.

  • Monitors seasoning usage to ensure minimum waste (seasoning or time).

  • Responsible for sifting through the extra seasonings to ensure minimum waste.

  • Responsible for tracking inventory, lot codes, and expiration dates.

  • Responsible for the weighing and packaging seasoning used in production and preparation.

  • Knows how to respond to external conditions which may affect quality.

  • Responsible for entering information into the Plant View and EIM systems.

  • Keeps a legible, accurate record as required, including entering data as needed into Plant View.

  • Be able to complete Process Monitors wholly and accurately.

  • Attend end-of-shift meetings as directed by the supervisor.

  • Address yield and scrap issues through action items and work order recommendations to supervisor.

  • Monitor temperature and humidity of room to ensure they are within tolerance.

  • Notify lead and supervisor when lot codes change on seasoning.

  • Monitor belt speeds and adjust as needed.

  • Monitor kick off conveyor and remove scrap as necessary.

  • Responsible for following company policies/procedures written or verbal.

  • Performs all other tasks as assigned.



JOB REQUIREMENTS:


  • Must be able to work weekends and overtime as needed.

  • Requires flexibility of wrists and hands. Walking, bending, standing and lifting required. Lift up to 50 lbs. on a frequent basis. Must be able to move heavy objects (100 lbs.) with mechanical device.

  • Must be able to understand and navigate through the different system screens.

  • Use and read scales and thermometers.

  • Must be able to use a calculator to figure out proper blend specifications, pre-mix weights, and other ingredient amounts (add, subtract, divide, and multiply).

  • Must be able to read the Operator's Logs and SOP's for assigned area and general production policies or any other related documentation.

  • Must be able to write production recordings in the Operator's Logs and complete production documentation accurately.

  • Must be able to perform the Seasoner Operator Training Checklist job tasks by the end of the 10 working day trial period.

  • Must be able to operate an electric pallet jack

  • Must be able to perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Must be able to review, understand, and follow supervisor instructions.
