The Department of Neurology at the University of Pittsburgh is seeking a Laboratory Research technician IV to work on biochemistry projects. This is accomplished, in part, through state-of-the-art research practices that help advance medical knowledge and therapies. Candidate must be able to work independently on complex laboratory work and experiments. Must have the ability to analyze and interpret data.
Performs a variety of independent and complex laboratory work and experiments. Analyzes and interprets data, compiles results, and prepares reports. Maintains inventory, ordering, and logs. Writes manuscripts and grant proposals and prepares data visualizations.
Must be able to get around a university setting.
The position involves primarily sedentary activities (bench work and tasks using computer) while standing and walking are involved in the general laboratory maintenance and some assay procedures but not for extended periods of time. Moderate level of activity and minimal light lifting as needed during laboratory organization and maintenance of supplies.
