Responsibilities

We seek a dynamic and enthusiastic Civil Engineering Intern at Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam, Inc. (LAN). You will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and contribute to real-world civil engineering projects. This internship provides valuable exposure to various aspects of civil engineering, allowing you to apply your academic knowledge to practical situations and develop essential skills for your future career.

• Collaborate with our experienced engineers to assist in the planning, design, and execution of civil engineering projects, including site development, infrastructure, and transportation.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to project specifications, environmental impact assessments, and material testing.
• Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to create and modify engineering drawings, schematics, and plans.
• Participate in site visits and inspections, assisting in surveying, measurements, and construction monitoring.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation, reports, and progress updates.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, surveyors, contractors, and clients, to ensure project goals are met efficiently.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices, and apply this knowledge to ongoing projects.

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Strong academic record in engineering coursework.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design software is a plus.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Enthusiasm for learning and a strong work ethic.
• Knowledge or interest in water supply and transmission systems is desirable.
