Job Summary

The Broker Relations Representative supports our broker partners and assists with the initiation and maintenance of credentialing and acts as the primary point of contact for any questions or concerns.

Key Responsibilities/Duties - what you will be doing


  • Credentials new/ participating brokers by researching and processing applications, tax forms, licenses and related documents. Explains eligibility criteria to new/participating brokers. Provides customer service via phone/e-mail/correspondence to prospective or existing Brokers and related internal personnel regarding qualification for participation, answering questions, problem solving or researching a variety of financial situations.

  • Responsible for maintaining the Broker Relations Oracle compensation database including credentialing brokers, adding new accounts and broker links, organizing monthly commission payments to Brokers, running associated reports, interacting with Accounts Payable to ensure appropriate payment, receiving payment-related, email correspondences/calls from Brokers. Processes monthly non-standard commission calculations and reports.

  • Supports Brokers and Sales staff by providing information related to year-end bonus projections.

  • Responsible for creating and maintaining broker data in Oracle CRM systems, to assure Broker access (as appropriate) to online tools such as HPOQ, HPOR, HPHConnect, Online Commission Statements and Harvard Pilgrim Online Reporting. Trouble-shoots online system issues with Brokers, and serves as liaison between Brokers and IT.

  • Works with the IT department to create database improvements, including testing and reporting results.

  • Collaborates with Marketing to provide assistance with external Broker related events.

  • Perform out-of-the-box thinking, collaborate with others, and make a difference every day!

  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications - what you need to perform the job


  • HS Diploma, Bachelors preferred.

  • Experience in Broker/Consultant community preferred and 2 yrs administrative support or similar customer service role as well as experience with MS Office (Excel).

  • Highly organized, works independently, handles multiple tasks simultaneously, maintains confidentiality, excellent written, oral and telephone skills.
