The Benefits and Performance Operations Specialist position will play an integral role in supporting the benefits and performance department by managing operational processes, streamlining workflows, and ensuring that activities are conducted effectively and efficiently. This position will work closely with the benefits and performance team, as well as other internal and external stakeholders to execute plans and contribute to the continuous improvement of controls and risk management processes.

Compensation





$69,760 - $83,000


Exempt grade 15


  • Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas offers excellent competitive compensation with the goal of retaining and growing talented team members. The salary range for this role is a good faith estimate, it is estimated based on what a successful candidate might be paid. All offers presented to candidates are carefully reviewed to ensure fair, equitable pay by offering competitive salaries that align with the individual's skills, education, experience, and training. The range may vary above or below the stated amounts.




What you'll do




Integrated Systems Liaison:



  • Function as the primary point of contact between the Benefit and Performance audit function and various organizational system implementations. Ensure that Brand Assurance requirements are integrated into system designs and implementations, in addition to facilitating communication between benefit and performance auditors and system implementation teams to ensure alignment and address any concerns promptly.

  • Identify potential risks related to system implementations that could impact Benefit and Performance audit functions. Work with IT and operations teams to mitigate these risks.


Benefit & Performance Reporting:



  • Prepare various monthly, quarterly, and semi-annual reports that summarize audit findings and highlight key issues. Ensure these reports are comprehensive and delivered on time.

  • Prepare as applicable Steering Committee and Executive Level monthly/quarterly summaries for review by the Chief Auditor and Manager prior to distribution. Ensure reporting provides insights and where applicable the ability to forecast results.

  • Conducts BCBSA plan performance submission and performance variance reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance.


Audit Systems Specialist:



  • Collect and document business requirements from the benefit and performance auditors on a variety of projects. Oversee the integration of the requirements into the various projects.

  • Assess current functional processes and identify areas for improvement. Develop strategies for optimizing processes using techniques like business process modeling, RPA and automation.


Audit Support Analyst:



  • Provides critical support with conducting Benefit & Performance audits, deep dives, special reviews, and external audits. Serves as the primary support resource for the Benefit & Performance team.

  • Performs special job-related projects or tasks as assigned by management.




What you need



  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field. 8 years relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in internal audit, operations, or a related field.

  • Experience with maintain and troubleshooting IT system integrations for applicable projects.




Bonus if you have



  • Experience in analyzing business processes and gathering requirements preferred.
