The Director of Graduate Admissions must be a highly motivated, goal-oriented admissions professional who is a naturally persuasive, creative problem-solver who thrives in an upbeat environment with non-standard and varied working hours. The Director is a self-motivated, enthusiastic, goal-oriented individual with superior presentation, organizational, and interpersonal skills as well as demonstrated ability to follow direction, problem solve, manage multiple priorities, and meet goals. This position has a sales-like admission and prospect management approach to a designated recruitment territory in an environment where recruiters are responsible for reaching enrollment and net revenue goals assigned to them. The University has goals to grow graduate enrollment from 400 to 750 by 2030. As the staff's senior member, the Director will support University and Enrollment Division goals by coordinating the planning, processing, and reading of graduate admission applications. The Director is responsible for mentoring, leading, and coaching the graduate recruitment team and other duties as requested by the Senior Vice President. Reporting to the Senior Vice President for Enrollment Management and University Marketing, the Director participates in the strategic planning and implementation of graduate recruitment-related marketing, programs, and technology. The Director will be involved in all graduate admissions program phases, including travel, school visitation, territorial management, and correspondence. Responsibilities will also include telemarketing, interviewing, application evaluation, and increasing the visibility of Stetson University to a broad national and international audience.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Employment duties include, but are not limited to:
Successfully manage the recruitment, engagement, and enrollment of qualified graduate students
Serve as the primary liaison for University Departments including, but not limited to, graduate councils, Strategic Enrollment Management groups (SOBA, CAS,), off-site and online locations, testing and articulation agreements
Stay abreast of graduate enrollment trends and make recommendations to the Senior Vice President regarding policy and practices designed to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the graduate admission programs
Represent the University in a speaking capacity at on-and-off campus student programs; participate, as needed, in the general function of the office - student interviews, school visitations, college and corporate recruitment fairs, etc.
Demonstrate creative thinking, initiative, and dynamic leadership in assuming new responsibilities, identifying enrollment opportunities, and setting a standard of professionalism for the admissions staff
Participate in extensive travel by air and automobile, both in and out of state; international travel may be required
Oversee Graduate Recruitment and Admissions
Correspond weekly with graduate faculty (Department Chairs) of admitted students in respective departments for individualized recruitment based on academic interest
Serve as a member of the Enrollment Management and University Marketing leadership team
Ensure production and validate all ad hoc, weekly, monthly, and annual reports related to graduate enrollments
Day-to-day supervision of graduate team
Perform other site and position specific duties as assigned
