Job DescriptionThe School of Pharmacy - Boston seeks an adjunct faculty member to deliver high quality learning experiences and education for students in the Pharmaceutical Economics & Policy Program (PEP). More specifically, we are looking for candidates to teach online, asynchronously, a Pharmacoepidemiology Applications course for graduate students in the master’s in PEP program.  This course is an intermediate level course, designed to introduce students to the most important issues encountered in pharmacoepidemiology. The goal is to expose students to varied study designs of observational studies on the use, safety, and effectiveness of pharmaceuticals. Assignments and examples can be delivered using a statistical software such as R (preferably) or SAS. More details about course content can be delivered during the interview process. The following criteria are sought in applicants:

    Deliver didactic instruction in the Pharmaceutical Economics & Policy Program on the Boston campus.Provide students with an approved syllabus that includes course objectives and learning outcomes, teaching methodology, attendance policies in line with those of the School, texts and readings, assignments and deliverables, timelines and evaluation criteria.Provide engaging assignments that demonstrate the real-world applications of concepts covered.Support incorporation of diversity, equity and inclusion into the curriculum, as well as co-curricular experiences, to broaden the education of students and expand their knowledge of health disparities.Uses the University’s learning management system to post syllabus, assignments and other materials and to communicate with studentsAdvises and assists students through office hours or scheduled appointments, by videoconference, phone or email, and through other University-approved mechanismsAdditional responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor
RequirementsRequired:
    Advanced degree (PhD, JD, MPH, or equivalent) with appropriate coursework in the subject areas relating to Pharmaceutical Economics & Policy and a minimum of five years of relevant experience.A minimum of one (1) year of teaching experience in the subject areas taught or demonstrated prior training in instructional methodology and teaching skills from a formal teacher educational program or any comparable training program or formal in-house training program.Proficient skills and experience in Microsoft Office computer software systems that include word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations as well as an understanding or willingness to learn and use the Blackboard LMS.Commitment to graduate education and student successExcellent organizational and communication skillsMust be able to work independently and effectively interact with a wide array of parties at all levels (students, faculty, administration/staff, alumni, and external constituents, including healthcare industry professionals)
