Job Description Summary / TWC Summary:


JOB SUMMARY:The Outreach Coordinator for Community Outreach of TSU's Bullard Center grant funded Thriving Communities Grantmaking Award assists in the coordination and implementation of grant-related activities relative to the achievement of effective operations and dissemination of program information in EPA Region 6 to increase awareness and highlight the availability of the project. DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS:The Program Coordinator for Community Outreach is a highly collaborative, self-motivated, creative and personable person that is adaptable to new processes and settings with capacity to function independently.


This is a Grant Funded position.


Essential Duties Summary:


Program promotions, Community Engagement, and Outreach


  • Cultivates and maintains relationships to foster Community Engagement and Outreach throughout EPA Region 6

  • Collaborates with communities to discuss and promote the Thriving Communities Grantmaking Award project

  • Prepares materials, set-up, plan, implement, and participate in outreach events, seminars, conferences, and networking activities in EPA Region 6

  • Tracks regional community interest and engagement

  • Represents the Bullard Center at various professional meetings, community events, and conferences throughout EPA Region 6

  • Disseminates project materials to communities and other stakeholders in EPA Region 6

  • Collaborates with team members to ensure project correspondence and communications are distributed among communities throughout EPA Region 6

  • Conducts and report on project related assessments

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Hiring Range:

$48,273.00 - $60,341.00


Education:

Bachelor's degree and experience with Community Engagement and Outreach is required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


Knowledge of:


  • Policies, procedures, and best practices





Skill in:

  • Demonstrated skills with presentations, workshops, trainings, and community engagement/outreach activities

  • Demonstrated skills in a variety of computer software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, Adobe, Canva, etc.)

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with other team members and exercise sound judgment

  • Multitasking and time management

  • Excellent communication, both verbal and written, with strong public speaking skills


Ability to:

  • Independent use of technology, virtual meeting platforms, and social media

  • Ability to learn and adapt to new processes

  • Work flexible hours to meet the needs of the program


Work Experience:


Preferred:


  • Two years of community engagement/outreach or program promotion experience

  • Public speaking experience

  • Bilingual

  • Familiarity with communities throughout EPA Region 6 (Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma and New Mexico)


Working/Environmental Conditions:



  • Routine office environment

  • Sitting or standing in one location much of the time

  • Use of video display terminal

  • Some travel locally and regionally to program sites
