Job Title:Post-Doctoral ScholarDepartment:Veterinary Medicine | Research Administration

The Ohio State University is recruiting a Post-Doctoral Scholar to work in the lab of Dr. Christine Petersen in the College of Veterinary Medicine. This post-doc will carry out the studies regarding single cell sequencing and spatial transcriptomics. Projects could include assisting with immunology and epidemiological studies in Brazil, India and the United States. Focus will be immune responses to canine (visceral) leishmaniosis, but also tick-borne diseases and how these diseases impact one another.



This post-doc will also perform some day-to-day project coordination with our laboratory manager, graduate and undergraduate students as well as our collaborative groups at the University of York and UFRN in Brazil. This post-doc will aid Dr. Petersen and others in the group in manuscript preparation, grant and report writing as appropriate.



Must be post-PhD in a biological science that could include microbiology, immunology or bioinformatics.. Some veterinary knowledge or background also helpful (as in many non-US places, this is a bachelors degree). Ability to travel overnight, valid US drivers license ad the ability to meet Fleet Safety Program driving standards.



Required qualifications include previous experience performing bioinformatics evaluations of transcriptomic data and expertise that will translate well to immune host defense questions, including multiple medical and biosciences fields.



Desired qualifications include previous work with skin and/or PBMC cells; having working with primary tissues and samples; published first author works in these areas
