As a Freight Coordinator, you play a critical role in executing business for our customers. You'll build relationships with customers, sales representatives, sales managers, dealers, and other Taylor offices. Leveraging our proven processes and technology platform, you'll ensure orders are entered, carriers are properly booked, appointments are scheduled, manage shipments and solve challenging problems. This position will use a combination of technology skills, operational skills, and customer service skills to meet the shipping needs of our customer.



WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Responds with a sense of urgency to solve problems, identify problems, provide solutions.
  • Process new load orders received from customers, sales representatives, sales managers, dealers, and other Taylor offices.
  • Leverages technology to secure loads for company trucks and drivers as needed.
  • Leverages technology platform to set up new transportation carriers with our best practices vetting procedures.
  • Leverages technology to secure the right carrier at the right time to get the customer's machine delivered on time.
  • Leverages technology to provide timely communication of freight rates to customers, sales representatives, sales managers, dealers, and other Taylor offices.
  • Process load permits as needed for company trucks and drivers as needed.
  • Analyze customer inquiries, make informed decisions, and provide quality and timely updates to your sales representatives, dealers, sales managers, and customers.
  • Develop relationships with transportation carriers and help them optimize their fleet.
  • Makes calls and emails and receives calls and emails from customers, sales representatives, sales managers, dealers, and other Taylor offices.
  • Maintains updated information as to the status of scheduled and unscheduled loads.
  • Maintains various reports pertaining to transportation and sales, marketing, and production statistics as needed.
  • Assists Traffic Manager in the areas of obtaining load rate information, load planning, forecasting, scheduling, and maintains and updates all related records and reports.
  • Incumbent communicates daily by telephone and/or email with customers, sales representatives, sales managers, dealers, and other Taylor offices regarding availability, pricing, scheduling, and delivery of Taylor equipment. He/she is the liaison between the Transportation and other departments within the company. In the absence Traffic Manager, incumbent assists the Traffic Manager, in accepting calls and/or emails directly from the customers, sales representatives, sales managers, dealers, and other Taylor offices, and must be fully knowledgeable of the status of all loads in the schedule, commitments made to customers, and company and departmental policy and procedure in order to properly inform and advise the customer.
  • Approves freight invoices for payment and enters in appropriate systems.
  • Possesses and always exhibits patience and tact because of his/her unique position between the customer and Taylor Logistics, LLC.
  • Accountable for administering his/her area of authority with intensity, consistency, good judgement, and common sense.

Requirements




Educational and Skill Requirements:

  • Degree in Business preferred or three years related work experience.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Computer literacy and attention to detail required.
  • Office word, excel, power point, and outlook
  • Knowledge of heavy machinery helpful
  • Knowledge of trucking and logistics helpful
