IREX seeks a full-time Program Associate for the Communities and Governance practice to support several programs that focus on promoting responsive civil society and resilient communities. The Program Associate will provide programmatic, administrative, and logistical backstopping support to numerous programs. The program associate will also directly support the Communities and Governance Practice with ongoing administrative tasks and will have the opportunity to contribute to and drive Practice-level initiatives.

Your Background & Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 1+ years of work experience (may include internships or part-time job or combination of both)
  • Proactive and comfortable with administrative and financial practices, collaboration, and communication
  • Strong digital and computer skills, especially Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, and Teams; social media experience and knowledge (especially Facebook)
  • Very strong time management, multitasking, and organizational skills
  • Advanced writing and editing skills
  • Ability to work effectively across borders and cultures
  • Strong intercultural communication skills, foreign language skills are not required
  • Ability to work with and communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels of the organization
  • Detail-oriented and ability to work in the team and independently and work independently
  • Speaking, reading, and writing proficiency in English required
  • You must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.

Your Daily Tasks

  • Provide administrative and logistical support for all aspects of program implementation to ensure timely, accurate, and thoughtful completion of deliverables.
  • Provide administrative, logistical, and management support to team and Practice.
  • Support C&G practice with administrative support as needed, including financial reconciliation and travel booking, coordination of meetings, coordination of trainings and events.
  • Accurately tracking progress using tools such as SharePoint, Excel; utilizing tools such as Canva or Adobe for administrative or communication-related tasks.
  • With supervision, provide input to internal/external reports, presentations, and other products.
  • Represent IREX and Communities and Governance Practice interests both within and outside of IREX.
  • Communicate and coordinate with project teams.
  • Coordinate and assist in team and practice communication.
  • Assist with communications products as needed.
  • Support program internal and external communication; tasks may include, the management of email inboxes and program contact information, draft written communications, contribute to program communication tools (newsletters) and social media efforts.
  • Support practice with strategic initiatives aimed at growing business development opportunities.
  • If needed and with guidance from manager, provide support for payment requests.
  • Provide support to procurement, subaward management, budget processes, and payments when needed.
  • Help with monthly financial reports.
  • Clearly communicate progress and challenges verbally and in writing to manager and team.
  • Ask for help and support when needed from manager and other team members.
  • Provide input and contribute perspective to team decision-making when appropriate.
  • Other support duties as needed.

This position offers an anticipated salary range of approximately $43,200 - $52,000
