Job Description Summary:

We are looking for an experienced engineering leader who is motivated, versatile, and hands-on. You will be responsible for leading and developing a team of skilled engineers, overall design and implementation of a state-of-the-art Braintree Vault platform. You have deep experience in building backend web services. Business acumen, hands-on technology skills, positive work ethic and a collaborative mind set are the key to your success in this role. You will be working with various cross functional groups (business, product, analytics, user experience design and engineering) and will require admirable articulation, negotiation and influencing skills given the level of visibility. Experience or awareness of the payments industry is a big plus.

  • Managing a rapidly evolving technology stack on a diverse set of platforms;






  • Facilitating and driving key technology decisions with senior technology stakeholders;






  • Attracting, retaining and building top notch full stack engineering talent;






  • Serve as a mentor, technical leader and thought leader for a talented team of both front end and back end engineers, challenging them and helping them grow;






  • Partnering with product, technology, program management and analytics stakeholders to balance aggressive roadmap against engineering principles;






  • Building a culture of learning and sharing technology insights across the technology teams;






  • Driving consistent practices in hiring, training and development across the technology organization;






  • Bring innovation to the table that helps in improving the resiliency of products you are responsible for, sell your ideas and be part of the change;






  • Looking for continuous improvement in productivity and quality;






  • Tracking business impact of features on a regular basis, and relying on performance data to make informed decisions about possible changes or improvements;






  • Deep collaboration with cross functional engineering and product teams;




Qualifications:




  • Experience in designing, implementing and maintaining high performance, high availability, large-scale web applications;






  • Excellent communication skills and ability to grasp and convey complex product requirements or technical concepts;






  • Ability to work in a fast paced, agile development environment;






  • Ability to partner with business units, product management, program management and cross-functional teams to deliver business results with agility and high quality;






  • Experience building and managing highly effective engineering teams, conducting performance reviews, making compensation decisions and recruiting talent;






  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work on concurrent assignments with different priorities;






  • Proven results oriented person with focus on customer experience and delivering quality products;






  • 5+ years of experience in managing and growing engineering teams (2+) that are responsible for large scale & high volume websites;






  • Solid knowledge of algorithms and design patterns;






  • Solid knowledge Ruby, Python or Java,web services (REST/JSON);






  • Strong Agile skills and proven track record for product delivery;






  • Demonstrated development team building and people management skills;






  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

$96900 to $234300
