Located in Greater Boston, MassBay is a comprehensive, open-access community college offering associate degrees and certificate programs on three campuses in Wellesley Hills, Framingham, and Ashland, Massachusetts.

Position Summary:

All openpositions are Hybrid & On-site, and employees are expected to be on-site as per their approved schedule.

The ideal candidate will foster a dynamic, culturallyresponsive learning-centered environment that facilitates student success anddemonstrate a passion for teaching and promoting success among a diverse studentpopulation.

Faculty members are responsible for developing educationaland evaluation materials consistent with the philosophy and framework of theprogram and MassBay Community College. The faculty member is responsible formaintaining expertise in the discipline.

Massachusetts Bay CommunityCollege seeks an enthusiastic and collaborative professional to take anactive role as member of the Division of Humanities and Social Sciences andteach a full-time schedule (approximately 15-credits each semester) of firstand second year Psychology courses, including Introduction to Psychology,Psychological Disorders, Substance Abuse, Research Methods, Human Growth andDevelopment, Child Development, Adolescent Psychology, Psychology of criminalbehavior, Organizational Psyhcology, Self Assessment and Career Planning, andChild Development, among others.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Teach full-time (approximately 15 credit hours per semester) at Wellesley Hills, Framingham, and/or Ashland campuses, in person, hybrid and/or online, as assigned;
  • Prepare course syllabi and develop curricula to meet course and program requirements and student learning outcomes;
  • Serve as academic advisor to students;
  • Post and maintain a minimum of four (4) office hours per week;
  • Participate in the improvement and development of academic programs and resources;
  • Serve on College committees as elected or appointed;
  • Attend Program, Department, Division, and Committee meetings;
  • Participate in the assessment of course and program learning outcomes;
  • Use the college’s learning management system and other forms of technology effectively to communicate with students and colleagues and to enhance classroom learning as appropriate;
  • Engage in professional development activities to maintain excellence in the discipline and in the classroom;
  • Carry out other related duties as assigned by the Dean consistent with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Psychology from an accredited college or university;
  • A minimum of two years of full-time teaching experience, or the equivalent part-time experience teaching Psychology courses;
  • Demonstrated ability to use information technology effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Sensitivity and commitment to the goals of Affirmative Action and workforce diversity;
  • Experience working in a diverse environment;
  • Demonstrated commitment to working with underserved students;
  • Doctorate degree in Psychology from an accredited college or university;
  • Community College teaching experience strongly preferred;
  • Ability to work effectively with English language learners, adult learners;
  • Effective use of materials and assignments that develop the writing and critical thinking;
  • Prior experience with curriculum development and program assessment;
  • Demonstrate ability to use a variety of teaching and assessment strategies to promote and evaluate student learning;
  • Demonstrate interest in developing and teaching online and honors courses;
  • Express interest in student activities such as starting a Psychology club.

Additional Information:

Salary Range: $56,190- $64,409, in accordance with one'seducation and experience as dictated by the collective bargaining agreementclassification compensation structure.
