This role has been designed as 'Hybrid' with an expectation that you will work on average 2-3 days per week from an HPE office.

Job Description:

Essential Job Functions and Duties:


  • Configuration and software maintenance of servers, switches, GPUs, and storage.

  • Image and upgrade servers with Linux OS and update firmware.

  • Set up multiple root partitions and install a variety of OS versions on the partitions.

  • Update DNS entries and configure systems to run on the HPE network per our network security protocols at HPE.

  • Familiar with VMware vSphere and setting up and maintaining virtual servers.

  • Familiar with High-Performance Cluster Manager (HPCM) software and able to install and maintain a cluster using that software.

  • Familiar with Lustre File systems and supporting software installs and upgrades.

  • Familiar with Workload Managers; SLURM and PBS.

  • Basic knowledge of shell & Perl scripting, Ansible, and Docker. Additional knowledge of containers (Kubernetes, Podman, Docker) is a plus.

  • Maintain a clean and safe lab environment.


Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or Business field required.

Candidate will collaborate with a team of system administrators and will have a senior system administrator at the same job site to be their mentor.

The expected salary/wage range for a U.S. -based hire filling this position is provided below. Actual offer may vary from this range based upon geographic location, work experience, education/training, and/or skill level. If this is a sales role, then the listed salary range reflects combined base salary and target-level sales compensation pay. If this is a non-sales role, then the listed salary range reflects base salary only. Variable incentives may also be offered. USD Annual Salary: $58,500.00 - $135,000.00
