Description

Vitalant is currently seeking a Sr. Automation Test Engineer to lead all automation testing efforts as well as perform test on applications systems for Vitalant, its affiliates, and business units. This role will design, build, and execute automated tests to validate stated functionality requirements of features, patches, upgrades, scalability, and reliability of applications systems.

This position can work remotely from anywhere in the United States.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• May assist with coordination of workflow, training, and mentoring of support staff, as required.


• Analyzes business/system requirements in order to develop/implement a test framework for automation and performance test strategies based on needed test coverage, business functionality and application usage.


• Collaborates with development, infrastructure, ISQ, and IT Service Management teams.


• Identifies, quantifies, and communicates software risks and defects to test managers and developers.


• Constructs and maintains an automation framework and test scripts for on-premise and web-based applications.


• Works with ISQA to define and implement solutions that ensure process compliance.


• Manages ALM related and test management related documentation.


• Produces accurate time estimates needed to execute assigned projects and tasks.


• Performs verification on software defect fixes to ensure the resolve stated problems.

Requirements

Knowledge/ Education

Bachelor's degree required.

Licenses/ Certifications

Certification in Quality and/or Testing, Test Management preferred.

Experience

Seven years of related experience required. To include:

• Five years of experience using automated test tools for functional and/or performance testing.

• Three years of work experience with VBScript / SQL / C# / Java / C++ or other.

• Experience with virtualization test environment.

Experience in the design and execution of test cases and to identify single points of failure in environment stack such as network, storage devices, database, etc. required.

Experience working with software test tools required.

Must possess the skills and abilities to successfully perform all assigned duties and responsibilities.

Must be able to maintain confidentiality.

Must have analytical, statistical, personal organization, and problem solving skills.

Ability to work in a team environment and participate as an active team member.

Must exhibit exceptional oral and written communication skills.

Must be proficient in organizing and executing variable workload items and completing priorities.
